Ferozepur, February 9, 2017: Ferozepur police on Wednesday busted a gang of robbers by arresting of its two members. Weapons including a pistol, live cartridges and car, were also recovered from their possession.
The arrested accused have been identified as Bau Singh resident of village Khilchian Qadim and Gurjant Singh of Saddhu Shah Wala falling under police station Sadar and Kulgarhi respectively.
The other members of the gang who managed to escape from the scene are identified as Gagandeep Singh of Ram Lal Nagar, Ferozepur City, Kamaljit Sigh of Bhamba Landa and Ajay of Khilchian Qadim.
Gaurav Garh, SSP, Ferozepur said that police had received a tip-off that members of this gang had been planning to rob some people in the city and sitting in a Swift car bearing registration No.PB-05-AE-9641. Acting on it, the police party conducted a raid at the designated place and arrested the alleged accused Bau Singh and Gurjant Singh with recovery of one Swift car, one pistol .32 bore with 11 live cartridge, one pistol .315 bore with 11 live cartridges.
The SSP said that further said, the gang member Bau is involved in nine different cases of murder, attempt to murder, NDPS Act, Arms Act dating back from April 2000 to June, 2014 and Betting while Gurjant Singh alias Bhatti is also involved in nine cases of attempt to murder, kidnapping, robbery and Arms Act between December 2009 to November 2013.
Besides, both of these accused had opened fire in Guruharsahai on polling date.
All the alleged accused have been booked under Sections 399, 402 IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of Arms Act at Ferozepur City police station and further investigation has been started.
