FICO will open Facilitation center for SAMPADA Scheme

Ludhiana, September 12, 2017: Today Sardarni Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Cabinet Minister for Food Processing, interacted with industrialist and farmers at Guru Nanak Dev Bhavan, Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana regarding the implementation of Government's SAMPADA scheme (Scheme for Agro Marine Processing and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters). The objective of SAMPADA is to supplement agriculture, modernize processing and decrease Agri-waste.

SAMPADA is an umbrella scheme incorporating ongoing schemes of the Ministry like Mega Food Parks, Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure, Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure, etc. and also new schemes like Infrastructure for Agro-processing Clusters, Creation of Backward and Forward Linkages, Creation / Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities.

Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization popularly known as FICO agreed to open a facilitation center for the farmers & industrialists, at FICO Office. S. Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO, said that any farmer or industrialist who wants to avail the SAMPADA Scheme of Government of India, can take benefit of FICO’s Food Processing Facilitation Centre for the documentation preparation.
