Dharamsala, February 15, 2013: The First Annual Convocation of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) Dharamsala shall be held on February 28.
Disclosing this here on Friday, the Registrar of CUHP, B R Dhiman said, “ The Dalai Lama shall be the Chief Guest and will deliver the convocation address whereas Arun Maira, Member, Planning Commission, Government of India, and the Chancellor of the University shall preside over the convocation.”
As many as 115 Degrees and 6 Gold Medals shall be conferred/awarded to the candidates who have successfully completed their programmes of study in the year 2010-2012 as per rules.
The Registrar said that on March 1 there will be a cultural programmes for the degree holders
The CUHP started its function in a temporary location on January 20, 2010. Due to the political bounces in Himachal the University yet to have its own land to build the administrative and faculty structures. The institution was initially announced by Sonia Gandhi for Dharamsala in 2007.
