While addressing the Press Conference Mr.Vivan Singh Gill, Director, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana, we are delighted to inform everyone that Fortis Ludhiana has joined the elite club as centre for Live Related Kidney Transplant in Punjab. Our first patient was discharged on 07 January 2017 after successful live related Kidney transplant. Donor was his beloved wife and Kidney was harvested laparoscopically.

Speaking on the Occasion Dr Navdeep Singh Khaira, Director Nephrology said, patients who are having chronic kidney failure are candidates for Kidney transplant. These patients require renal replacement therapy in the form of dialysis or kidney transplant. Over 1.5 lakh people suffer end-stage kidney failure in India every year and need a transplant, but barely 3,500 find donors.
