Five fixed dose combinations prohibited

Shimla, July 12, 2017: As per the directions of the Government of India, manufacturing, sale and distribution of five drugs have been prohibited for human use. These drugs include fixed dose combination of Nimesulide+Levocetrizine, Ofloxacin+ Ornindazole Injection, Gemifloxacin +Ambroxol, Glucosamine +Ibuprofen, Etodolac +Paracetamol.

The State Drug Controller Shri Navneet Marwaha today informed that in light of this notification by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the manufacture, sale and distribution of above said fixed dose combination has been prohibited with immediate effect alongwith product permissions granted to the manufacturers and its licenses to manufacture these drugs. He said that these formulations must be withdrawn from the market immediately.
