Chandigarh, September 4, 2015: Five members committee headed by Retired Accountant General Mr.Amrik Singh Bhatia would investigate the extent of misappropriation of funds by scrutinizing all the previous records of Pension Section of Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh.
PU Spokesman informed that the PU Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover has constituted the committee which includes PU former FDO and Ex-Registrar (Additional Charge) Mr. B.L.Gupta, PU fellow and University Business School Prof Karamjit Singh, UBS Prof Sanjay Kaushik. Deputy Registrar (Establishment) would be the convener. Former PU FDO Sh. Ashok Raj Bhandari would be invited to the deliberations of the committee as and when felt desirable as the special invitee.
The committee would also ascertain the involvement of other employees and audit staff accomplice, if any, in the case of misappropriation of University funds fraudulently by Ms. Pooja Bagga, daily wage clerk.
The committee would after finding loop holes, if any, in existing system of checks & balance suggest suitable measures to make PU accounts management a fool proof system in future, PU Spokesman further informed. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
