GGNIVS Organises Industrial Visit

Ludhiana: In keeping with its tradition of never skipping the practical aspect of its teaching, GGNIVS on Tuesday organised an industrial visit to BSNL for all the batches of B.SC.IT. Students got a glimpse into the functioning of different departments like: Transmission Zone, Base Station Controller and main server section. The students were made aware about how exchanges in different cities are connected and also how mobile phone works. There was brief interactive session that saw students answering some questions asked from them. They were also apprised of RAID SYSTEM. Even the Recruitment Process in BSNL as well as the Billing System based on CDR was revealed. All the students who had made the visit, returned satisfied with enhanced knowledge. On their return, the student s thanked the college Director, S. Manjit Singh Chhabra for facilitating such a visit. The college Director, while interacting with students reminded them of the institute’s commitment to work ‘Beyond the Books’. “Such industrial excursions should be an integral part of the formal teaching. They provide an edge to the students over those whose learning is restricted to classrooms only”, said the college Director, S. Manjit Singh Chhabra.
