Giant Starkenn Appoints Mahajan Brothers As Their Brand Ambassadors

Pune, July 21, 2017: Starkenn Sports Pvt Ltd today announced the appointment of cycling enthusiast duo Dr.Hitendra Mahajan and Dr. Mahendra Mahajan as its new brand ambassadors. As a part of this association Starkenn handed over Giant’s 2017 XTC Advanced 3 to the Mahajan Brothers. 2017 XTC Advanced bicycle is a performance MTB with features such as a frame made from advanced grade composite, FOX Float SC Performance 100 mm suspension fork, Shimano Deore 2x10 drivetrain, MegaDrive downtube and a PowerCore bottom bracket. To start this association, Mahajan brothers will be using the Giant bicycles in the upcoming Tour of Dragon event, the toughest one day mountain bike racing competition which happens every year in Bhutan.

This announcement press conference was addressed by Mr. Pravin V Patil, MD & CEO, Starkenn Sports. Pvt. Ltd., along with the Mahajan Brothers, Dr. Hitendra Mahajan & Dr. Mahendra Mahajan at the newly opened Giant Starkenn Cycling World (GSCW) & Starkenn Technical Center (STC) at Fatimanagar.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Pravin Patil, MD & CEO, Starkenn Sports Pvt. Ltd said, “We are extremely happy and proud to be associated with Mahajan Brothers. We at Starkenn Sports Pvt. Ltd. have always extended our support to athletes and those who are committed to creating awareness about cycling as a sport, and are committed to providing them with the best products and service as can be seen at our second GSCW and STC here at Fatima Nagar in Pune, the first one being near the Pune RTO as Sangam Bridge. Mahajan brothers who are doctors by profession are dedicated to promote fitness and we appreciate their approach towards the same. We look forward to this association and would like to convey my best regards to them for the upcoming Tour of Dragon. We all want to see them making it big on international platforms like Tour of Dragon.”

Commenting on the appointment Dr. Hitendra Mahajan said, “We are extremely humbled to be appointed as brand ambassadors for a brand like Giant Starkenn. We are grateful to Mr. Patil for having faith in us. Being cycling enthusiasts, we really appreciate when people come forward to support cycling. We believe that cycling is the best mode of exercise which keeps you fit and motivated. With the kind of efforts which Starkenn is taking I believe that soon cycling will become one of the integral sports in India. With the continuous engagement and support from Starkenn we will continue our efforts to create cycling communities across the country.”

Doctors from Nashik, the Mahajan Brothers, Hitendra and his younger brother Mahendra became the first pair of Indians who had successfully completed and won the 4800 KM Race Across America (RAAM) which is considered as world’s toughest cycling race. The Mahajan brothers aged 45 and 40 completed the race and crossed the finish line in 8 days, 14 hours and 55 minutes. Unlike the Tour De France, RAAM is a multi-day event where the participants has to cycle continuously for hours together, which tests them physically and mentally. Like RAAM Tour of Dragon is also one of the toughest one day Mountain Bike Race which happens in Bhutan every year. This year it is the 8th season and is scheduled to happen on 2nd September, 2017.
