Give status of "Shaheed" to National Martyrs: Phoolka

Ludhiana, March 23, 2017: Mr.H.S.Phoolka, Leader of Opposition, Punjab Vidhan Sabha and MLA Dakha today said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Lok Insaf Party strongly demands that Government should do the needful so as to give the status of "Shaheed" to those Martyrs who laid down their life for the cause of the nation.

Paying a tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their 86th martyrdom day at Jagraon Bridge, Ludhiana, Mr.Phoolka said that it is surprising that no successive government has taken any initiative in this regard and persons who laid down their lives during freedom struggle have been ignored. Even after 70 years of the independence the names of these martyrs have not been entered as Shaheeds in official gadget of the government.

The mission, with which Bhagat Singh and other martyrs sacrificed their Lives is still not accomplished yet as these martyrs demanded freedom from the system and not from rulers, Mr.Phoolka said.

Mr. Simarjeet Singh Bains, MLA, Atamnagar, Mr. Vipan Sood Kaka, Mr. Randheer Singh Silvia, Mr. Harjot Bains, Col. Darshan Singh Dhillon, Amrit Pal Singh, Mr. Darshan Singh Shankar, Mr. Suresh Goyal, Dr Surjit Singh were also present on this occasion.
