Mohali, March 8, 2015: Governor, Chhattisgarh, Balramji Das Tandon is visiting Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh on March 11. He would launch Special Scholarship Scheme for the students of tribal areas on the occasion.
Many eminent personalities like N.K Sharma, Chief Parliamentary Secretary-Industries & Investment, Govt.of Punjab; Bibi Harpreet Kaur Mukhmailpur, M.L.A, Ghanaur, Patiala; R.K Verma, Principal Secretary, Technical Education will also grace the occasion.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges while giving these details said that the scheme aims at strengthening those students who cannot pursue their higher education because of lack of financial resources. Students selected under scholarship would study in different courses like B.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, BA, B.Com, B.Ed, Nursing, Polytechnic, +1 etc.
 
It is to be mentioned that some states have maximum percentage of tribal population in India like Lakshadweep (94.6%), Mizoram (94.19%), Nagaland (88.98%), Meghalaya (86.43%), Arunachal Pradesh (64.63%), Manipur (38.96%), Chhattisgarh (31.82%), Jharkhand (26.34%), Odisha (22.19%) and Madhya Pradesh (20.26%).Funds released by the central Govt. for tribal area students do not cover all students.
Dr Kataria also added that prior to this also Aryans has been promoting higher education for needy students. Various scholarship schemes in the interest of the economically weak students have been launched by eminent personalities like Union Minister, Vijay Sampla, Dr. Kiran Bedi; Ex Army Chief, Gen JJ Singh; Ex-Director, CBI, Joginder Singh etc.
