Govt Employees Opting For Extension Eligible For Pay Equivalent To Last Pay Drawn

Chandigarh, November 3, 2015: The Punjab Government has issued Notification regarding extension on service to the Government employees. According to the Notification the employees opting for extension would only be eligible for drawing pay equivalent to last pay drawn. These employees would not be eligible to avail promotions and annual increments.
            According to an official Spokesperson as per the Punjab Civil Services Rules, Volume-1, part-1 & amended provisions of Punjab Civil Services Rules, Volume-2, the Government employee who retire at the age of 58 or 60, would be eligible to give option for extension in service up to two years (year wise) after retirement and such employees would not be eligible to avail promotion, benefits of ACP, annual increment and revised pay scale benefits etc. The spokesperson said that these conditions would also be applicable on the present employees who are availing first or second year extension.
            The Spokesperson also said that those employees who belong to the Group-A, B & C services are eligible for extension for two years (year wise) on attaining superannuation at the age of 58 while the employees belonging to Group-D can avail the extension on attaining the age of 60 years. The Spokesperson disclosed that the employees can give their options on the prescribed Performa before three months period of their retirement. He said that those employees who are in the first or second year of extension as per the provisions of Punjab Civil Services Rules, can also give their option again on the prescribed Performa.
