Hangal’s death great loss to indian cinema: Sukhbir

Chandigarh, August 26: Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab today expressed deep grief on the demise of great Indian cinema icon A.K. Hangal, who passed away today at the age of 95 in Mumbai.

In a condolence message, Badal said described the death of Hangal as great shock to the entire Indian cinema and end of an era of Indian cinema. He said that Hangal has a massive contribution to Indian cinema and theater by acting in more than 225 films especially his act as ‘Rahim Chacha’ in world renowned ‘Sholay’ was unforgettable. He said that beside Bollywood, Hangal also put scores of milestones on television.

Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, Badal said that basically Hangal belongs to Punjab and he was born in Sialkot (now in Pakistan now) before independence. Badal also prayed the Almighty to give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss and grant peace to the departed soul.
