Ludhiana, August 6, 2012: Police have seized two narcotics smugglers in separate incidents. The value of which in the international market is worth Rs. 1.5 lakh.
Addressing a press conference here today, the ADCP Harmohan Singh told that the arrested accused had been identified as Mohit Kumar, a resident of Mohalla Sewak Nagar and Jasvir Singh, a resident of Bhagwan Nagar.
Mohit was apprehended at a police naka laid at Cheema Chowk on Sunday. He had been driving a motorcycle when apprehended on suspicious grounds. On checking, 20 grams of heroin was seized. His father, a jeweler, has informed the police that he has already debarred his son from the family.
The second accused Jasvir was arrested at a police nakabandi held at T-Point. Police have seized 10 grams of heroin from his possession.
Both the accused have been booked under the NDPS Act at Police Division No.6.
Further police investigation is in progress.
