HIKE: Punjab hikes DA of pensioners/family pensioners by 7%

Chandigarh, December 4, 2012: The Punjab government has issued notification revising the dearness allowance of Pensioners/family pensioners/extra ordinary pensioners from 65 to 72 per cent with effect from July 1, 2012 to compensate them for rise of cost of living.

Stating this here today, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance Minister, Punjab said that the dearness allowance has been revised on the pattern of Government of India and a ready reckoner has been supplied to all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDO) and nationalized banks to calculate the quantum of dearness relief payable to each individual.
