Dharamsala, December 17, 2013: Himachal Pradesh Government on Tuesday laid the Himachal Pradesh Tax on Luxuries (In Hotels and Lodging Houses) second amendment bill 2013. It will amend section 6C of Act 1979 (Act No.15 of 1979) empowering the state government to notify a scheme for a period not exceeding five years and to exempt from payment of luxury tax the proprietors of such home stay units which came into operation between July 15, 2008 to July 14, 2013 in rural areas .
State excise and taxation minister Parkash Choudry who laid the bill, said that now in the interest of people of rural areas and also to promote the rural tourism further in the state, it has been considered essential to extend the home stay scheme for another period of five years from July 15, 2013 to July 13, 2018, so that  the proprietors of Home stay units which will come into operation  during the sad period may get the exemption from payment of luxury tax on such home stay units in the rural areas falling beyond 3-kms from immediate outer limit of municipality, excluding such important tourist destinations as may be specified in such scheme. // dharamsala news update, dharamsala information, dharamsala news, himachal news online, himachal news kangra, himachal news in english, himachal news today, himachal news, india news,
