Himachal Power Ltd workers call-off strike

Shimla, November 6, 2015: The workers of Himachal Power Ltd and Himachal Energy Ltd. called off their strike last evening after the personal intervention of Industries, Labour and Employment Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri. These workers were on strike at Jabli in Solan district since past two months.

Shri Mukesh Agnihotri has directed the Labour and Employment derpartment to maintain cordial relations with the workers and industrial   management. He said that time limit of industrial package being extended to Himachal Power Ltd. and Himachal Energy Ltd. was nearing to end and the State Government was ensuring to maintain conducive atmosphere for investment, entrepreneurs and workers did not face any inconvenience.

Industries Minister said that State Government under the vibrant leadership of Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh was committed for the welfare of the workers and it was also being ensured that they were not subjected to any exploitation.

Shri Agnihotri said that strike of workers of I.S.O. Loyds, Torrent Pharma and Sun Pharma industries was also called off recently due to the efforts of the State Government and Labour and Employment Department. 

Labour Commissioner Shri Shri Amit Kashyap and other officers of the department held  a meeting with the representatives of management and workers of Himachal Power Ltd. and Himachal Energy Ltd.  to sort out the issues after which they agreed to call-off their strike.
