Jalandhar, July 22, 2017: Harmanpreet Kaur, who scored not out 171 runs off 115 balls in ICC Women World Cup Semifinals and made India won the match against 6 times champion Australia, is a proud alumnae of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. She was announced ‘Player of the Match’.
Principal congratulated her and prayed to Almighty for her best performance in finals. Harmanpreet Kaur, basically from Moga District, took admission in HMV in 2008. She was selected in Indian Cricket team and participated in ICC Women’s World Cup 2009 in Australia. She was also a member of Indian Team which participated in ICC 20-20 World Cup in England Tour of India in 2010. India got third position in this tournament. She participated in India V/s West Indies ODI series in India in 2011 and India won by 3-2. She was appointed as Vice Captain of Indian Cricket Team for ICC World Cup 20-20 in 2012 held at Sri Lanka.
President DAV College Managing Committee New Delhi congratulated Harmanpreet Kaur, her parents, Principal and HOD Sports. He said that HMV is proud of its daughters. Harmanpret Kaur brought Indian Cricket and HMV on International arena with her smashing innings. We, as HMV family, feel proud of her.

Principal congratulated Harmanpreet Kaur, her father S. Harmandar Singh and mother Sukhjeet Kaur. She said that HMV family is eagerly waiting for her to return back to India with World Cup Trophy. She said that HMV will welcome Harmanpreet Kaur whole heartedly and we are on her support every time. HMV is proud of its alumnae Harmanpreet Kaur, who made India proud at International arena.
HOD Sports Department also congratulated Harmanpreet Kaur and said that Harmanpreet Kaur always had big dreams. In 2008, after her admission in HMV, under the guidance of sports department and Coach Mr. Roop Basant, she started achieving her goals. She has played 3 World Cups till now and her ideal is Virender Sehwag. She made the college proud with her batting.
