HPCA Congratulate Indian Women Cricketers For Their Performance In World Cup 2017

Dharamshala, July 25, 2017: The Himachal Pradesh Cricket association HPCA congratulated the Women cricket team for their brilliant performance in the recently concluded world cup where the team lost to England by just 9 runs in the final.
HPCA press secretary Mohit Sood said here, "It’s a moment of great happiness and pride that our women cricket team gave a stupendous performance at the recently concluded ICC women world cup in Britain .We congratulate and laud the whole team for this great performance.”
He added, “We are also very proud that our girl of the soil SUSHMA VERMA, who hails from Sunni in Shimla district and now an integral part of our Women’s academy in Dharamshala played a very important and pivotal role as a wicketkeeper batsman in the tournament . It’s a moment of great happiness and pride that our academy girl was an integral part of this success at the ICC World cup , this has been possible due to the Vision and dedication of our former BCCI president Sh.Anurag Thakur who created world class cricketing infrastructure in our small hill state and also for setting up a world class residential women’s cricket academy at Kangra a first for our state for the upcoming women cricketers .”
RP Singh, Director HPCA and member governing council said, “ Our women cricketers have done very well at the national stage due to these faculties and hoping that few more girls from the state would don the national colors soon and do us proud as sushma did.”

HPCA has already named the newly constructed Cricket ground’s pavilion in Shimla district in her name in the recent past and is planning to organize a felicitation ceremony where Sushma and other women cricketers would be honoured for their feats.
Mohit said ,”Sushma is an inspiration to many women cricketers in the state and with this achievement and global applause she will surely inspire many more .”
HPCA also expressed happiness that Himachal Government has offered Sushma a job of DSP in the state police for her performance in the world cup . The association consider it as a positive step in the right direction .
