IFCON Best Poster Award to CIPHET Scientists

Ludhiana, December 27, 2013: Dr.DM Kadam and Dr.DN Yadav, Senior Scientists at Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana have received IFCON 2013 Best Poster Award for the poster entitled “Nano Functionalised Biodegradable Corn Zein Protein Biopolymer” and Process development for removal of impurities from commercial groundnut cake and its utilisation in extrudate snacks respectively.
Award was presented during 7th International Food Convention (IFCON) "NSuRE HEALTHY FOODS" (Nutritional Security through Sustainable Development, Research & Education for Healthy Foods) at CSIR-CFTRI Campus, Mysore, Karnataka during December 18-21. Dr. D M Kadam is presently working on development of protein and starch based nano functionalised biodegradable biopolymers for packaging of fruits and vegetables and nano-bio-composites for construction of storage systems. Director, CIPHET, Ludhiana has congratulated scientist for winning award from reputed organisation.
Transfer of CIPHET Technology
CIPHET has transferred a technology of “Pearl millet based extrudates and composite pasta” to Siddharth Aggarwal, an entrepreneur from Ludhiana on December 3, 2013. Now-a-days millets are gaining popularity among people owing to their nutritious value.  Hence a number of interested persons are approaching CIPHET to take up this technology and want to establish their own venture.
