Industrial Interaction Meeting With Dr. Roshan Sunkaria

Ludhiana, August 11, 2017: Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings organized Industrial Interaction Meeting With Dr.Roshan Sunkaria, Principal Secretary, Department of Science Technology and Environment, Government of Punjab in the CICU complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana. The objective of the meeting is to control the pollution in industry in systematic and effective method & also to educate it members to control the pollution in a cost effective manner.
Sh.Upkar Singh, General Secretary, CICU while welcoming the Chief Guest and other dignitaries informed the need of organizing this meeting for the benefit of the industries in the State. He requested the Chief Guest for setting up the separate Zone for the Red Category Industry to control the pollution in the City Areas. He also requested that the setting up Effluent Treatment Plants will help in discharging the pure water after the treatment.
While speaking, Dr.Sunkaria speaking assured the industrialists that Pollution Control Board is meant for the development and to guide the MSME units. He said the demands submitted by the Chamber are genuine and need to be addressed sympathetically. He assured that the ETP plants in various places will be made operational.
Sh. Babu Ram, Member Secretary, Pollution Control Board said that industrialist will not be harassed by the Department for implementation the pollution norms. He said that it will be make sure that the department will help the MSME units in guiding the implementation procures. He further assured that demand of VDS and rain harvesting system and fly ash disposal of the industry will be addressed in due course of time.
Sh. D.L Sharma, Director, Vardhman Textile Ltd raised the demand for nominating the area for disposal of rice husk ash. He also requested for the constitution institutional benefits of the industry.
Sh. M.S Ubhi, Director of the LETs informed that 5 lakhs being lifted for treatment by the JBR. He also requested that the units located in the non designated area may not be harassed for getting the consent from the Pollution Control Board.
Sh. S.C Ralhan, Chairman FIEO requested for the maintenance of the Road and sewerage systems in the focal point areas.
Mrs. Mridhula Jain, Chairperson of the Shawl Club apprised the Chief Guest that Pollution Is not created not by the Industry biut also by the resident of Ludhiana. She requested that over all pollution should be curbed.
Sh. Rajeev Jain from UCPMA requested that fees levied for getting the consent is to be reduced. He also requested that outside the industrial units Green Belt should be made mandatory to control the pollution.
Sh. Rajneesh Ahuja requested the Chief Guest for there is a need to aware the industrialist about the various norms of the pollution and Pollution Control Board should not act as a Domination Agency. It should become facilitators.
