Jalandhar, October 21, 2014: A display of different weapons and equipment used by BSF was organised by Border Security Force (BSF) at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. On this occasion, IG, BSF Ashok Kumar IPS, DIG BSF H.S. Dhillon and DIG BSF R.P.S. Jaswal were present.
Principal Dr Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj welcomed the guests. On this occasion, display of different weapons and equipment used by BSF and their demonstration by BSF personnel including Mahila Constables was done. A documentary on BSF was also shown to the students. An open house interactive session by senior officers of BSF was also organized with the students and staff members of the college. IG, BSF, Ashok Kumar IPS, said that such programmes generates patriotic feelings and motivate the youths to be good citizens and to actively participate in Nation building besides creating awareness about the role performed by this Elite Force in the service of nation.
Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj welcomed the dignitaries and said that the students should be aware of the role played by BSF in guarding our borders. These types of exercises will also encourage the students to join Army services. The students and staff members interacted with BSF officers in an open house session. Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Programme Coordinator, Saloni Sharma and Purnima were also present.
