Investiture Ceremony Held at Cambridge International School

Jalandhar: ‘Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life’. Cambridge bestows upon its students the ability to be future leaders of the world. Keeping up with this thought, Investiture Ceremony for the Student Council for the session 2017-18 was held at Cambridge International School Jalandhar, on May 26, 2017.
School is the next home for the students. If at home they spend their childhood then at school they prepare themselves for their future and these memories are cherished throughout their lives. Student Council Body election is the part of education that enhances the leadership qualities and imparts managerial skills in the children which have become a necessity in their journey of success. They also aid them in becoming a responsible citizen. Though it was a difficult task to choose the future leaders, but the selection of the deserving candidates was successfully made through a peaceful and democratic election process under the guidance of teachers.
Newly elected Student Council Members, for the current academic session, were sworn in on Friday 26, 2017 at an impressive Investiture Ceremony amidst the air of enthusiasm and anticipation. It was a solemn occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharged the responsibilities trusted upon them by the school.
The ceremony began with a crisp March Past by the Student Council. After a traditional welcome, the school choir set the tone for the programme through a melodious song followed by the Flag Handing over Ceremony. The Head Boy- Connor Kelley, Head Girl -Japneet Purba, Junior Head Boy- Japneet Singh, Junior Head Girl -Muskaan Sethi, Sports Captain- Simrat Gulati, Vice- Sports Captain- Taarish Malhotra, Literary Captain -Jasleen Juneja, Cultural Captain- Arshia Dang, Editor In Chief- Mehak Sharma & Kanwarbir Singh, Cedar House Captain- Sabpreet Kaur, Vice Captain -Paras Khosla, Maple House Captain-Ahaan Dada, Vice Captain- Shurya Gulati, Oak House Captain -Yashik Jain , Vice Captain- Yastika Handa, Pine House Captain- Sanya Bhargava, Vice Captain- Damanpreet Singh and all the members of student council were decorated with sashes and badges as a mark of honour. It was followed by Oath Taking Ceremony.
The ceremony was presided over by the Executive Director LWES, Mr J K Kohli. In his address, he shared amusing anecdotes from his school life, which the parents as well as the students could relate to. He acknowledged the efforts of all the parents sitting in the audience and urged them to let their children live their dream no matter how unconventional it may be. In his inspiring speech, he advised the children to become good human beings, imbibing with high moral values and positive attitude in their life and to focus on their mission which can only be attained with clear vision. Principal of the school, Ms Kiranjoth Dhillon congratulated the elected Student Council and exhorted them to uphold the values imbibed in them by their institute. Apart from nurturing leadership skills, she also emphasized on the values that one must inculcate. Honesty, determination, discipline, wisdom, humility and aspirations are the words they need to pay heed to.
The newly inducted Head Boy and Head Girl proposed the Vote of Thanks. The proceedings of the function concluded with a spell- binding rendition of Yoga performers.
On this occasion, Chairman LWES Mr. Ajay Bhatia, Vice Chairman LWES Mr. Nitin Kohli, President LWES Mr Deepak Bhatia Executive Director LWES Mr. J.K Kohli, CEO LWES Dr. Brijesh, Chief Education Officer LWES Ms. Deepa Dogra, Secretariat LWES Ms Geeta Mahajan, Ms. Meenu Huria, Ms SmitaVerma, Principal Kiranjoth Dhillon congratulated the Student Council and advised them to perform their duties to the best of their capacity and capability and leave no stone unturned in proving themselves true to the motto of the school, that is, ‘Dream ,Dare and Do’
