Jagraon police cracks mystery behind killing of man at Sidhwan Kalan village near Jagraon in 2008

Ludhiana, September 12, 2017: The Jagraon police have cracked the mystery behind the killing of a man at Sidhwan Kalan village near Jagraon in 2008. The police have also arrested two persons in this regard. The accused have been identified as Randhir Singh alias Dhira r/o Sidhwan Khurd and Satnam Singh alias Satta alias Guggu r/o Sidhwan Kalan.

Giving the details of the incident during a press conference today, Sh.Gursharan Singh Sandhu, DIG Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana and Sh.Surjit Singh, SSP, Ludhiana Rural informed that Jaskewal Singh was killed in 2008 on the outskirts of the village.

The police had initiated proceedings under section 174 of CrPC following the death of the victim. However, ASI Chamkaur Singh posted at CIA Staff Jagraon received a tip off some time back that Jaskewal Singh was killed by Randhir Singh alias Dhira and Satnam Singh alias Satta owing to an old enmity.

According to police, Randhir Singh had some dispute with a member panchayat Jeet Singh in 2008 and Jaskewal Singh was supporting Jeet Singh which ended in rivalry between Randhir Singh and Jaskewal Singh. Owing to this rivalry, Randhir Singh alias Dhira and Satnam Singh alias Satta both attacked Jaskewal Singh December 21, 2008 when the later met them on the outskirts of the village in a drunken condition. Finding Jaskewal Singh in a drunken condition, Randhir Singh and Satnam Singh attacked him with the bricks and badly injured him. Later on, Jaskewal Singh died while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana.

SSP Surjit Singh further informed that the police have booked both the accused under sections 302 and 34 of IPC and arrested them. During the preliminary questioning, the accused have confessed off their involvement in the killing of Jaskewal Singh.
