Jalandhar, July 14, 2013: Again petrol price have been hiked by Rs 1.55 a litre, excluding local sales tax or value added tax (VAT), with effect from midnight.
This is the fourth increase in rates in six weeks.
The reason for the hike is due to falling rupee, which made oil imports costlier.
BJP national executive member Manoranjan Kalia, MLA, has strongly condemned the hike. In a statement here today, he added hike is to further rise inflation across the country. The common man will be the most sufferer, he remarked.
Kalia has urged upon the Centre roll back the hike.
