Ghaziabad: Khiatan Public School celebrated its annual day on Saturday evening with full zest and elation. The event which was themed “Dare to Dream” witnessed Ms Anita Kundu as the chief guest. Ms Kundu is the first Indian woman to scale Mt. Everest from China’s side. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp after which scintillating welcome Dance based on the Goddess Durga’s victory over evil was performed by the students. The students welcomed the chief guest with their soulful musical performance with exuberance and unmatched zeal and rhythm. The audiences enjoyed performances thoroughly as they stood and applauded to motivate the children. Apart from the dance and musical performances, students also presented plays based on the freedom fighters and other notable personalities like Bhagat Singh, Thomas Edison, Michael Jackson and some sports-related personalities. As the programme culminated, the vote of thanks was proposed by Geeta Varshneya, Education Director, Khaitan Public School.

“It’s a proud moment for us as Anita Kundu who is also a Sub-Inspector of the Haryana Police and has scaled Mount Everest from the China side marked her esteemed presence in the programme. The theme of this event revolved around the concept to aspire for bigger goals and the chief guest was the perfect person to motivate our students to dream big. Schools are not only a centre for learning but also a place to enlighten students about their limitless capabilities and motivate them to make plans and set goals” concluded Geeta Varshneya, Education Director, Khaitan Public School.
