KMV Collegiate Students make Best Out of Waste working Models

Jalandhar, May 24, 2017: At KMV Collegiate Sr.Sec.School, Department of Chemistry organized a Best Out of Waste Competition. The primary objective of this event was to enthuse and infuse interest for science in young minds. In addition to this it was also intended to boost up the self-confidence and hone the presentation skills of the students. An acclaimed academician and Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma was the Chief Guest of the occasion. In an overwhelming response to the call for participation 70 students registered for the event. They made wonderful still and working models based on various principles of science. The models that were outstanding were rain water harvesting, waste water management, hydroactive power plant, nuclear power plant to name a few.
Himani and Anshuman from 10+2 Non-Medical won the first prize. The second prize was given to Prabh and Simran from (10+1 Non Med.) and Amanpreet & Amarpreet from 10+2 (Non Med). The third prize was won by Pawan, Poonam, Prabhkirat and Harsimran of (10+2 Non Med.) Consolation prizes were also given to Mansi, Akriti, Navjit, Navneet, Sumit Bhatia from (10+2 Med), Pahuldeep (10+1 Med) Amanjot & Komalpreet 10+2 Non Medical.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the prize winners and applauded the efforts put in by the students and faculty in making the event successfully. She added that such events should be held often as they lead to through understanding of the subject.
