K.M.V Spic-Macay Chapter organises live Rajasthani folk-song Programme

Jalandhar, October 11, 2017: In Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar a live Rajasthani folk song programme was performed by artists of international repute. This was in collaboration with spic-macay. The seasoned team of performers was from Jodhpur Barnwal Village. The team leader Ustad Anwar Khan Langa is the son of famous Rahmet Khan Langa who has given music for many Bollywood songs. He is associated with Spic-Macay for 33 years. Now Ustad Anwar Khan Langa has carried forward the rich heritage since he was eight years old. Under the tutelage of his father Ustad Anwar Khan has dedicated himself to music right from childhood and is a seasoned performer. As support vocal performer he had Janab Idu Khan Langa with him. Janab Hussain Khan played the Harmoniam and also gave vocal support. The instruments that accompanied the vocalist were Dholak. Khadtall and Jhanji. While Janab Barkat Khan played the Dholak, Janab Pathan Khan played the Khad Tall.
The performers kept the audience mesmerized with soul stirring music. The overall experience was an ethereal one and transported all in the audience to another world.

Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi who was present on the occasion to welcome the special guests with flowers and light the traditional lamp of knowledge observed that music had undescribable powers. It could gladden the heart, bring peace and joy and among other things. Appreciating the role of Spic-Maccay in promoting Indian Culture throughout the nation she congratulated Dean ECA, Dr.Gurjot for having organized such a fruitfull performance.
Among others present were Mrs Seema Jain, Dr. Madhumeet and Dr. Vinod Kalra.
