Jalandhar, June 27, 2017: At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar women empowerment is a motto pursued with passion. NCC is one avenue that allows girl cadets to realise their potential to the full and transform themselves into well rounded personalities. Recently S/Uo Sunaina Devi went for an adventure camp at NIM Utarkashi. C.O.Ajay Kathiyal Principal of the institute which trains for climbing Mt.Everest began the mountaineering training with an opening address & screening of videos which were both motivating and inspirational. After two days of training at base the cadets visited Tekhla. During their stay they had a lot of competitions like rock climbing, tent pitching & map reading classes. Point to point march also practiced alongwith rock climbing competition. During the evenings cadets were shown training films and were given access to the library. There was also a cross-country racing competition of 3 kms and pt. to pt march competition of 9 kms. During the trek they saw Chaurangikhal, Nachiketa Tal and back to NIM by bus. During their stay they also went to saat Tal and came back to Harsel. The cadets also visited the local market of Handloom very close to the border of China. One of the highlights was the visit to Gangotri. It is noteworthy that KMVite Sunaina from Jalandhar Group and 2Pb (G) Bn NCC Jal won 1st position in all the 3 major competitions i.e. 1) Point to Point March 2) Cross-Country Race 3) Biovouaccing (Tent Pitching). Sunain expressed her gratitude to Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi and C.O. 2Pb (G) Bn NCC Jal for giving her the golden opportunity to explore her potential.
