Land of the tea gardens would not be allowed to be used for other purposes in Himachal: Vir Bhadra

Dharamshala, January 16, 2017: Keeping in view the tough geographical conditions of Chhota and Bara Banghal High Altitude areas of Kangra district, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh announced government degree college to be opened at Multhan (Chhota Banghal ),while addressing a public meeting at Baijnath 60 kms from here on Monday , during Palampur /Baijnath trip of his ongoing Winter Sojourn. Besides it the CM announced up-grading of Bir Primary Helath Centre to Community Health Centre and Baijnath Civil Hospital to 100 bedded hospital.
82 years old HP CM VirBhadra said , “when I became Member of Parliament for the 1st time in 1962, Baijnath was a part of my constituency and I had an opportunity to visit every village of this segment and was aware of aspirations and ambitions of the people and its developmental needs.” He said that the credit of making Himachal Pradesh a model of development goes to successive Congress governments ,which planned and executed policies and programmes benefitting the common man since the state came into existence.
He also announced construction of retaining wall for protection of the historical temple of Lord Shiva at Baijnath and upgrade G.H.S. Sagoor to Senior Secondary School, and G.M.S Ghorpith to High School.
He also assured that appropriate action would be taken to redress the demands of the people engaged in tea gardening adding that land of the tea gardens would not be allowed to be used for other purposes. “As the Kangra tea had its own significance, the state government would take suitable steps along with the Tea Board of India to make it viable,”added CM.
Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today also sanctioned a rope way from Bandla village to snowline near Palampur town in Kangra district along with veterinary dispensary for Badher, Ayurvedic dispensary for Gwal Tikkar and health sub centre for Deogran gram panchayats. He said that the name of the circuit house being constructed at Palalmpur town would be named as ‘Son Kunj’.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated a bridge over Deol constructed at a cost of Rs.209.41 lakhs, Panchayati Raj Training Institute constructed at a cost of Rs.645 lakhs, building of P.H.C., Bandian Khopa and 33KV Sub Station at Chadhiyar. He performed Bhumi Poojan of link road Jamerala to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 205.71 lakhs. He laid foundation stones of auditorium in the premises of Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Ayurvedic P.G. College and Bhatti Anubhag and also dedicated a girl’s hostel completed at a cost of Rs.361.18 lakhs. He dedicated andlaid foundation stones of all the developmental works from a single site at Baijnath.
M.L.A. of Baijnath constituency ,Shri Kishori Lal briefed about the ongoing developmental works in Baijnath constituency. He alleged that during the regime of B.J.P. various institutions were closed down. It was during the regime of the Congress government that offices of S.D.P.O. and Soil Conservation, Govt. Degree College, Mini Secretariat, Panchayati Raj Training Institutes etc. were opened.
Urban Development Minister Shri Sudhir Sharma, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Shri Anil Sharma, M.L.A. Shri Yadvinder Goma, Chairperson, Chairman KCCB Shri Jagdeesh Sipiya, Advisor, I.T to the Chief Minister Shri Gokul Butail were also present on the occasion.
