Ludhiana, April 8, 2015: The Ludhiana District, in association with NGO';s Ludhiana Pedellers Club, Ludhiana Cares, schools, colleges, Hero Cycles and Avon Cycles and other corporates as Corporate Social Responsibility, would be organising "Life Cycle", a cycle rally for promoting cycling and healthy living, in the city on April 12, 2015 (Sunday). This cycle rally would start at 6 am from Guru Nanak Stadium, would reach Ferozepur Road Octroi Post and end back at Guru Nanak Stadium, here at 10 am.

While addressing a press conference, Deputy Commissioner Rajat Agarwal informed that this is a social event in which all city residents are invited. He said that cycling is a best exercise and all people should cycle daily because it not only keeps one fit, but also freshens the mind.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Naveen Singla said that as the cycle rally would be organised from 6 am to 10 am, the Ludhiana Police would make sure the participants get a smooth ride. He said that if required, regular traffic would be diverted on to adjoining roads so that the city residents do not suffer.

Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Commissioner G K Singh Dhaliwal, informed that the cycle track from which this cycle rally would pass, would be repaired. He informed that very soon, a dedicated cycle track would also be constructed at Rakh Bagh, which is in the process of getting revamped. He informed that the Nehru Rose Garden in Civil Lines would also be beautified and developed by spending Rs 2 crore. He said that both the projects would be ready by Diwali.

All three senior officers assured all possible help to the organisers.

Ranjodh Singh from Ludhiana Pedallers Club informed that the entire event has been grouped into different activities, such as cycle rally, cycle stunts, yoga, graffiti, art competition, Zumba Stall, Gatka, fancy dress competition, kite flying besides several others. He said that besides this food stalls would also be set up.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all the city residents to take part in this four hour event.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Onkar Singh Pahwa, MD, Avon Cycles, S K Rai, MD, Hero Cycles, Harpreet Soin from Ludhiana Cares, Jagdeep Malhotra and Salil Gupta from Ludhiana Pedallers Club, besides several others.
