Liquor meant for “Sale in Haryana only” seized

Ludhiana, August 23, 2012: A police patrolling party has seized 10 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from Mohan Lal, a resident of Rishi Nagar, on Wednesday.

According to an official information here on Thursday, a police patrolling party apprehended the accused with the consignment of liquor that was meant for sale in Haryana only.

The accused is running a dairy in Mandeep Nagar.

Police Division No. 4 have registered a case under the Excise Act against the accused.

Police said similar cases were already registered against the arrested person.

Further police investigation is in progress.

Police told that it had started a campaign against liquor smugglers. The recent arrest was a part of the ongoing campaign, police further said.
