'Lohri Dheeyan Di' celebrated at Apeejay College of Fine Arts

Jalandhar, January 10, 2017: Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar in collaboration with Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission wholeheartedly celebrated 'Lohri Dheeyan Di'. The event was organized to boost the status of females in our society and to aware the people about the important role a female plays in building peaceful and progressive society. On this occasion, 10 females who have earned dignified positions in diverse fields were honoured. The honoured personalities included Dr.Sucharita, Principal, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, Dr.Sushma Chawla, Gynecologist, Mrs. Shruti Shukla, Deputy Director, SCERT Education Department, Punjab, Bhavna Pushkar Sandal, Mrs. Jaskaran Kaur, Mrs. Seema Soni, Mrs. Vandna Walia, Mrs. Samratia Sachdeva, Mrs. Gurbaksh Kaur and Ms. Loveleen Kaur.
Students of the College won the hearts of the audience with their mesmerizing performances like Kathak, Folk Orchestra, Gidha and Comedy. Not only this, the singers Anadi Mishra, Kulbir, Preet Gurpreet and Ashu Singh also performed on the stage.
Principal, Dr. Sucharita thanked Mr. Arvind Mishra, Chairman, Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission for organizing this event and shared her views that such events play a vital role in spreading awareness about the importance of girl child. Today, whereas females are touching the heights of glory in every field at the same time greater section of society discriminates with females. So we need to take united steps to change the perceptive of society towards females.
