Ludhiana, July 15, 2017: Today, Arun Jaitley, Union Finance Minister exchanged his views in a meeting with city's top businessmen, industrialists, bureaucrats, educationists and tax professionals where Manpreet Singh Badal, Finance Minister, Punjab SP Oswal, Rakesh Bharti Mittal and other top personalities were present.

In the meeting, the delibrations were made to take the country on top in the world with fast developing and strengthening it's economic system. Ludhiana which is the most leading industrial city can cntribute much where brilliant business brains always think towards fast progress.

Ashok Kumar Juneja, President, Punjab Tax Practitioners Association submitted a memorandum for rectifying and amending some provisions of GST Act. Punjab Plywood Manufacturers Association (PPMA) delegation represented by Juneja requested since it is agro-based industry and 80 per cent units fall within SSI and MSME category. Higher the tax rates higher the evasion is set precedent, he told Mr Jaitley.

Juneja submitted a memorandum of the Ludhiana Customs House Agents Association and Ludhiana Association of Freight forwarders objecting to wrong charging of Service Tax continuously from the last 4 years.

Jaitley assured Juneja that he will look into all the matters personally and respond back on the issues.

Naresh Tiwari, Chairman, All India Agro Plywood Manufacturers Association and Sukhdev Chabra, Secretary General, Ranjit Singh Sohal, Secretary, Harkiran Sohal and other office bearers of PPMA were also present.
