Ludhiana, December 13, 2013: Leading industrial leader Inderjit Singh “Pardhan” had left for heavenly abode on December 10. His Bhog and Antim Ardass will be held from 2 pm to 3 pm on December 15 at Gurudwara Model Town Extension, Ludhiana.
He was born on February 1, 1921 at Nankana Sahib (Pakistan). He did Graduation from Khalsa College Lahore and was college-mate of Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister, Punjab, with whom he had cordial relationship till death. He was very close to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, ex-Prime Minister. He was one of the few Industrial leaders from Punjab who earned good rapport with the leadership at state and national-level.
He served the trade and industry for the last more than 50 years and was well conversant with the trade and industrial problems of the state.
A veteran industrialist of Ludhiana, manufacturer of cycle & cycle parts, he earned the distinction of Pardhan, because of his leadership qualities.  
By dint of his selfless services for the industry for more than 5 decades, he was popular as the ‘Bhisham Pitama’ of Punjab industry. An honest personality, he opted to serve the industry especially the small-scale sector of Punjab, which has been reeling under various stresses and bottlenecks.
Since 1992, he was steering the activities of CICU & was elected unanimously as its President by the Trade & Industrial Sector. He was totally against corruption. He served the longest term as President of CICU till his death, enjoyed distinction in the industry and worked as crusader against corruption and fought for cause of society.
He also represented CICU in conference of the World Chambers Congress at Marsalia, France.
Taking into consideration, his positive national aptitude, selfless services towards the trade & industry of Punjab and creating awareness about the problems confronting the industry, Punjab Government had appointed him as the Chairman, Small Scale Industry Development Board, Punjab with the status of Cabinet Minister in 2008 till its dissolution in 2012, in the previous tenure of SAD-BJP Government.
