Ludhiana News/Police arrest 2 persons involved in illegal trade of fake currency notes

Ludhiana, December 11, 2013: Two persons allegedly indulging into illegal trade of fake currency notes have been arrested by the police with the recovery of fake currency notes worth Rs. 11 lakh.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the Additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) Swapan Sharma told that the accused had been identified as Major Singh of Ghandiana village in Payal and Mohinderpal Singh of Shivala Road. The accused were apprehended during a nakabandi held in the area of Moti Nagar here. Police have seized fake currency worth Rs. 11 lakh in the domination of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000.
Police have also recovered a computer, two scanners, two printers besides some other equipment used in printing of the fake currency notes from the accused. The accused were apprehended on a tip-off, Sharma said. The accused had been into this practice for the past about six months.
The accused used to get Rs.25,000 against fake currency worth Rs.1 lakh.
Further police investigation is on.
