Ludhiana News/Technical seminar on PTC's CREO 2.0 system held in city

Ludhiana, December 19, 2013: A technical seminar on PTC's CREO 2.0" system, organised by M/s Adroitec Engineering Solution Pvt. ltd in association with Bicycle Research & Devlopment Organisation (BRADO) was held in Ludhiana on Wednesday late evening.

It focused upon the need of modernisation of design process in cycle industry. The traditional way of drafting using a drawing board and instruments was followed in early sixties, was a very cumbersome, time consuming and difficult to handle and store. Also any small change in design parameters would change the whole drawing sheets again was very time consuming and difficult to handle.
With the introduction of design software on computer, this process has been made very easy to handle, store as well as modify the drawings.
Similarly, making computer models of the new products has also been made possible which makes it much easier to analyze and test the products with respect to its actual usage even much before we make the first physical prototype, leading to a more refined physical model.
 This has not only drastically cut down the time cycle of new product developments but also has made it possible to optimize the material usage to reduce costs. The strength to weight ratio of such designs is very high.
Ludhiana cycle industry has been mainly focusing on old traditional roaster models which were only for domestic consumption. But now with increasing globalization and tough completion from international suppliers has generated the need for more sophisticated design and manufacturing techniques with shortest possible lead times and cost effective products. This is possible only by the complete change in our working culture from design to manufacture.
BRADO has taken this important initiative by holding this seminar to generate the awareness among entrepreneurs. By using such advanced computer modeling techniques, we can make highly refined component designs using advanced materials like graphite composits and micro-alloy tubes which are currently being used by other advanced countries for making cycle frames and other components. BRADO is planning to hold more of such awareness seminars and motivate our entrepreneurs to adopt most modern design and manufacturing systems.
