Ludhiana(Rural) Police arrest accused involved into sacrilege incident at Lamme village in Jagraon

Ludhiana, May 28, 2017: As per direction of Sh.Surjeet Singh, IPS, SSP Ludhiana (Rural), a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Sh.Mandeep Singh, PPS, SP (Hqrs), Ludhiana(Rural) was formed to investigate on sacrilege of Sanchian incident that occurred on April 29, 2017 at Village Lamme, Jagraon. An FIR No.42 u/s 295-A, PS Hathur was registered against unknown person and during investigation, it came on record that Paltu Ram r/o Ramnagar Chandanpur PS Puthia district Katihar (Bihar) now residing at house of Harbans Singh and has been living in village Lamme since last 20 years, is directly involved in this incident. On information received from ASI Amarjeet Singh, Paltu Ram was arrested by Inspector Rajesh Sharma, SHO PS Hathur from village Lamme on May 28 and interrogated. He confessed to have his involvement in this sacrilege incident. Further investigation is in progress.
The SSP assured that police is committed to maintain law and order and harmony between various sections of the society.
