Madhura Waykar of Maharashtra Team earned 4 Medals - 2 Gold, 1 Silver & 1 Bronze
Jamkhandi, Karnataka, November 2, 2017: Maharashtra Cycling Team secured 2nd spot in the overall medal tally of 22nd Road National Cycling Championship, 2017. Maharashtra Cycling Team earned 5 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal to secure 2nd spot. Karnataka, the host team earned 7 Gold, 7 Silver & 7 Bronze and earned the top spot. Railway team earned 4 Gold, 2 Silver & 1 Bronze and secured its position on the 3rd spot. Road National Cycling Championship recently held in Jamkhandi from 28th October to 31st October, 2017.

Madhura Waykar of Maharashtra Cycling Team sponsored by Starkenn Sports earned gold medal on the last day of Championship. In this championship Madhura Waykar of Ruikar College, Mumbai bagged 4 medals which includes 2 Gold, 1 silver & 1 bronze and played an important role in the overall ranking of Maharashtra Cycling Team.

Mr. Pravin Patil, MD & CEO of Starkenn Sports had given 6 premium bicycles and spare parts of worth 35 lacs to the riders of Maharashtra Cycling team. Post results he has announced that in future also Starkenn Sports will support Maharashtra Cycling Team in all the possible ways.

Category-wise overall results:
Madhura Waykar (Mumbai) earned gold medals in both Women Junior (Below 18 years) Mass Start as well as Time Trial category. She finished both the races respectively in 1 hr 20.362 seconds and 31 min. 16.480 seconds.

Captain of Maharashtra Cycling Team Rutuja Satpute (Pune) first opened an account for Maharashtra where she earned gold in 30km women elite Time Trial category where she completed the race in 43.32.195minutes.

Maharashtra’s Ashwin Patil also earned gold medal in the Men Junior elite 30km category where he finished in 39.45.188minutes. Pooja Danole of Krida Prabodhini (Pune) also earned gold medal for Maharashtra in youth girls (below 14years) category. She finished in 16.11.043minutes.

In the women junior (below 18 years) time Trial category Team of Madhura Waykar, Pranita Soman, Priyanka Jadhav and Swapnali Surat completed 30 KM race in 46. 32.802 minutes and earned silver medal.

In Women's Time Trial 40 KM race Maharashtra Team consisting of Rutuja Satpute (Pune), Pranita Soman, Madhura Waykar and Yashodhara Sherkar (Pune) completed race in 1 hr 2 min and 9.219 seconds and earned bronze medal.
