Ferozepur, December 17, 2012: Under the presidentship of Fatehdeep Singh, District and Sessions Judge, Feozepur, award for Rs.8,92,63,877 was passed on amicable settlement of 4,637 cases in Mega Lok Adalat.
Fatehdeep Singh said, the next monthly Lok Adalat would be held on January 19 next in judicial courts at Ferozepur, Zira, Guruahrsahai, Fazilka, Jalalabad and Fazilka.
He further said, to reduce the pending cases in the courts, Lok Adalats have proved most useful. There is no appeal on the decisions taken in the Lok Adalats on amicably settlement between both the parties and case is closed for ever.
In this Lok Adalat, Jaspal Verma, secretary, district legal services authority, Feozepur, Manju Rana, Harpreet Kaur Jeewan, Dr. Rakesh Kuar, Additional District and Sessions Judges and Gurpreet Kaur, Pardeep Singhal, Civil Judge (Jr. Div.), R. K. Sharma, Assistant DA (Legal Services), president, Bar Association, advocates and social workers participated.
