Minutes of meeting held with DSW and other officers of PU with students

Chandigarh, September 22, 2014: A meeting of the DSW and other officers of the Panjab University was held with students of all student organisations to discuss the impasse and demands of the HSA and Neeraj Kharab sitting on hunger strike. The officers of DSW, DSW(W), Chief of University Security, Warden Boys Hostel No 5 were present during the meeting.

On the demand of roll back of the fee hike in hostels, it was decided that the fee hike will be reviewed after obtaining the audit reports of all hostels after December 2014. If the average income is more than the expenditure then the fee will be reviewed and the benefit that can be given to the students will be decided by the committee that will be formed of the hostel residents consisting of the students of different organisations, wardens and DSW’s. In the meantime a committee of the students will be formed to look for different hostel facilities for the feedback to take corrective measures.

It was also decided that the COE will be asked to rationalise the examination fee as the same has already been decided by the syndicate at the earliest. The fee should be fixed as per the minimum being charged from the students for that particular stream.

It was finally decided that the DSW will write to Panjab University Sports Committee through Director Sports for adjusting girl students in sports hostel.

That the DSW will write to the CMO for creation of proper indoor facilities at health center.
