Jalandhar, August 23, 2013: Namisha Mehta, Vice President, Punjab Pradesh Mahila Congress and spokesperson of the (PPCC) has shot off a letter to the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal highlighting worsening condition of the roads in Punjab.

The copies of this letter have also been circulated among the media persons. She said unless and until the basic infrastructure such as roads are not good enough, how can they expect development in the state.

She pointed out that Local Bodies in the urban areas are are facing financial crunch, resulting to which the roads are in pathetic condition.

The Local Bodies are not in a position to even repair the city roads which are full of pot holes. She regretted that the potholes are being filled with sand, which gets washed away by rains immediately.

She said on the one hand the deputy chief minister makes big claims of bringing development across the state whereas on the other side even the roads are in pitiable condition.
