National Panchayati Raj Divas To Be Celebrated In All Gram Panchayats Across Country On April 24

Chandigarh, April 22, 2016: In a first, National Panchayati Raj divas would be celebrated in all the gram panchayats across the country.
Disclosing this, an official spokesman said that Rural Development & Panchayat Minister, Punjab, S.Sikander Singh Maluka would lead a delegation to Jharkhand where Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will address a select gathering of elected representatives of PRIs at J.R.D.Tata Aports Complex ,Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) at 3 PM , which will be telecast live both on Doordarshan and All India Radio.
The spokesman further said that Mr. Maluka has instructed the departmental officers to arrange suitable and convenient place as well as television and radios for this special event for elected representatives so that they could listen as well as understand the vision of Prime Minister for overall development of rural areas.
He further informed that on this occasion, the Prime Minister would honour 1 Zila Parishad (Bathinda) , 2 block samities (Phul Panchayat Samiti, Bathinda and Panchayat Samiti , Balachaur) and 6 Gram Panchayats (Adampura Bhagta Bhai Ka, Bathinda, Jarkhar Dehlon, Ludhiana, Atargarh, Barnala, Vinnike Chaugawan , Amritsar, Khasaan Nadala, Kapurthala and Badrukkhan, Sangrur). On the occasion, Gram Panchayat Tamkot (Mansa) would also also be rewarded with cash prize along with other panchayats from Punjab.
