NBA Workshop on Outcome based Accreditation Inaugurated at PTU

Kapurthala, July 25, 2013: Punjab Technical University in collaboration with National Board of Accreditation (NBA) New-Delhi organized a four day webinar cum training workshop on Outcome Based Accreditation at PTU main campus Kapurthala here today.

On this occasion Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor, PTU was the chief guest and Dr Buta Singh, Dean Academic welcomed all the guests and delegates.

In his inaugural speech Dr. Arora highlights the importance of the accreditation of the institutions and  said that with the increasing number of educational  institutions today accreditation has become very important for providing quality education to the students along with making the institutions aware about its weaknesses and strengths so that the institution could move towards improvement of its programmes. He further said that earlier accreditation system was input based but with time it has now changed to an outcome based system.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Arora further said that PTU is one the nodal center out of seven nodal centers of NBA (National Bureau of Accreditation).

Special speaker Dr. Koteswar Rao, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai elaborated various parameters like vision, mission, programme outcome and programme specific criterion, curriculum and faculty of outcome based accreditation through Webinar. While Dr. D.K. Paliwal, Member secretary NBA New Delhi talked about the overview of the programme accreditation and NBA accreditation parameters.

Dr. A.P. Singh, Dean Research Innovation and Cunsultancy, Dr. H.S. Bains, Registrar PTU, Dr. Balkar Singh, Director Colleges, Sh. S.K. Mishra, Finance Officer, Er Ekonkar Singh Johal, Deputy Registrar PTU, Gaganjot Singh, Co-ordinator NBA workshop and other officers and faculty members of the university were also present at the occasion.
