Amritsar/Jalandhar, August 11, 2013: The Hind Pak Dosti Manch and NGOs, Folklore Research Academy and SAFMA, as per the tradition have been holding functions on August 14 at Wagah border (Amritsar) in order to send message of peace to Pakistan have been decided to not to organise the same because of fresh tension has crept in between India and Pakistan owing to Poonch killing of Indian Army soldiers.

According to the NGOs and Satnam Manak, General Secretary of the Hind Pak Dosti Manch and Punjab SAFMA in-charge have said that they have already decided to not to hold this function as five Indian soldiers have been killed at the LOC.

However the exchange of delegation may be cancelled for want of Visas to the peaceniks by both the countries. As far as the permission by the Border Security Force (BSF) has also not received by now to hold a candle light vigil for August 14 to be performed at the Zero line at the border.

Satnam Manak said, "We were to send a delegation of 40  delegates and  from other side the same number from Pakistan expected to visit.” He said first the very visas are also not yet received by us, in case visas received then of course all the organisations will be taking decision on Monday about the visit." He said we have been working to maintain peace for the past 18 years and this type of incidents of killing of the soldiers will surely give us setback, rather our hearts bleed having been looking at the photos of the bereaved families of Jawans who were killed."
