The Interact club members of The New Public School, Chandigarh on Monday organising a public awareness rally on ‘Go Green This Diwali’.
Chandigarh, November 9, 2015: The Interact club members of The New Public School, Chandigarh today organized a public awareness rally on ‘Go Green This Diwali’. As part of the activity students gathered at various traffic light points of the city beautiful and distributed bookmarks & brochures containing importation information to the commuters. Giving information about the initiative, club coordinator of the New Public School, said that, “We are motivating students and residents to shun crackers due to rise in cracker injuries and pollution. While celebrating Diwali, most people tend to overlook some important things that may prove disastrous for their health and environment at large. People get injured because of reckless use of firecrackers. Sparklers are one of the major causes of firework injuries requiring hospitalization. The general public appreciated the efforts of the students and promised to be the committed green citizens.
