Chandigarh, October 22, 2012: The Punjab government has directed all the deputy commissioners to continue extending the pension amount to the beneficiaries identified under Old Age pension scheme in the state if the documents attached found correct as per the laid down norms of the state government.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the government said that after a thorough survey conducted by the government to identify the genuine beneficiaries; it had come to the notice that most of the beneficiaries identified for the old age pensions were not authentic and did not possess any relevant document. Keeping this in view the disbursement of pensions was discontinued.

The government has urged the entitled beneficiaries to contact the SDM or Deputy Commissioner concerned along with all the documents justifying their claims so that their old age pensions could be restored after verifying the submitted details.
