Jalandhar, November 28, 2014: With India touted to be one of the leading candidates to become the next super power by the pundits, there has never been more need for young leaders. Youth represents the Modern India, young mindsets, young visions and new perceptions. There is a great burst in the youth to be more effective and involved in social issues. The youth today feels an urge to speak up, to stand by itself and its beliefs and ideals. Here, the Indian International Model United Nations is trying to create platforms to bring the youth forward by providing them a responsible medium to put forth their ideas. Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the UN where students don the hats of diplomats and try to solve global issues.

Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) is one of the India’s leading brand in education conference management having organized the Asia’s Largest Youth Conference in Mumbai amongst the many other conferences. Being a conference for the youth by the youth, it is run completely by students in age group of 16-22 years. It provides the youth a platform to voice their opinions by forwarding their drafted resolutions to the United Nations.

Cambridge is the first school that took an initiative to bring IIMUN to Punjab. The Opening Ceremony of IIMUN conference was held on Friday at Cambridge International School Chotti Baradari-II, Jalandhar and the school is proud to be the host for the same. The school welcomed the guests and dignitaries who graced the occasion with their benign presence. The event started with a welcome speech which was followed by lighting of the lamp. After the inaugural speech of Priyank Vasani, Director General IIMUN, the students mesmerised the audience with a Sufi song which was greatly applauded. Renowned journalist Khushwant Singh and Deputy General of Police and Director Police Academy Philaur, S K Sharma highly appreciated IIMUN for taking an initiative of bringing the world issues to a common platform.  The dance performances by ‘Parinday Dance Group’ and ‘Dance Factory’ Troupe were a great attraction. Videos of IIMUN Conferences were shown to spread the awareness about IIMUN. Rishabh Shah, the Founder President, enlightened people about IIMUN Conference at Jalandhar open. The live performance of Leslie Lewis enthralled the audience and left them spell bound. Hriday Bhatia, the Secretary General IIMUN, declared the IIMUN conference at Jalandhar open.

Director General IIMUN Priyank Vasani, Secretary General Hriday Bhatia, Assistant Director Naitik Shah and founder President Rishabh Shah were also present on this occasion. Chairman Ajay Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Deepak Bhatia, Director Learning Wings J K Kohli, Mr Nitin Kohli and Dr Brijesh, Academic Director Deepa Dogra, Meenu Huria, Principal CIFS, Kiranjoth Dhillon, Principal CIS, Jalandhar, Principals of CIS, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala and Phagwara and Preeti Sharma, Vice Principal CISFG, Jalandhar  were also present on this occasion and they all appreciated the efforts put in by IIMUN to bring about universal brotherhood.
