Ferozepur, February 12, 2017: To Create Awareness on “Organ Donation”, Paddlers Club, Ferozepur along with Gift of Life Organ Donation Awareness Society (GLODAS) and Indian Medical Association, Punjab organised a Cycle Rally at Ferozepur on Sunday.
Chief Executive Officer, Cantonment Board, Ferozepur, Om Pal Singh flagged off the rally which commenced from local historical Saragahri Gurudwara today morning.

The Cycle was led by Vaneet Kumar, additional deputy commissioner (Development), Ferozepur along with Dr.Baldev Singh Aulakh, a renowned Urologist and Kidney Transplant surgeon, Dr Harsh Bhola, secretary IMA, Punjab, Anirudh Gupta, Chairman, Gaurav Sagar Bhaskar, President Paddlers Club and general secretary Amarjeet Singh Bhogal passed through various lanes and markets of the town before its final culmination at local Baba Namdev Chowk where all participants paid enriched tributes at the statue of martyr Bhagat Singh.

Sunir Monga, project chairman of the cycle rally along with leading skin specialist Naresh Khanna kept motivating all the cyclists ageing from 10 years to 63 years old, during rally.

"Currently 1.5 lac People every year suffer from end stage kidney failure disease.4000-5000 are lucky ones to undergo kidney transplant with organ donated by their near & dear one.Same is story for liver and heart transplants.On the other side one brain dead person can save 8 lives and help many others," said Dr.Baldev Singh Aulakh.

To make people aware about such organ donation and not to waste organs this cycle rally was organised, he said.

Students of various schools and local residents enthusiastically participated into the rally.

Sanjha Vehra, at Ferozepur city hosted a refreshment for the participants of rally which also participated by Kuldeep Bhullar, Amit Dhawan, Shalinder Bhalla, Manjeet Singh, Manoj Soi, Kapil Jain, Ramanjeet Singh, Deepak Gupta, Rajiv Gupta and Umesh Sharma.
