Sh.Chander Mohan said the journalists and newspapers do not have any role in providing solution to the problems; their task and objective is to highlight the issues and problems in an appropriate manner. It is for the government to offer solutions. Rama Mir said that Jalandhar being Media hub is the best suitable place to bring out vernacular newspapers, some of which these days are focusing on Business and some on pure journalism. In current scenario no media house can dare to ignore the problems of Punjab. Amit Sharma said journalists usually focus on portrayal and presentation while making news. The problem arises due to the blur like situation often created between portrayal and presentation due to conflict, then presentation get converted into portrayal which often influences the opinion of the readers in a negative way. Vandana Khanna said that in vernacular news papers more focus is given on the usage of common mans language and words commonly used even from English and Punjabi. Vandana Bali said that these days some of the vernacular newspapers lay more focus on real stories and examples rather than table stories to highlight the problems of Punjab, which is a step in right direction. Students and teachers actively participated in Question hour session.
