Parents Association Meets Aam Aadmi Party Candidate

Ludhiana, February 1, 2017: Parents Associations of various private Schools of Ludhiana met and also submitted a charter of demands Aam Aadmi Party Candidate from Ludhiana West, Ahbaab Singh Grewal regarding the issues related to exorbitant fee hike. They also demanded that fee charged separately under different heads should not be charged and it is injustice to parents as they have to pay admission fee year after year.

Parents also put forward their grievances related to expensive books of private publishers and pleaded that only NCERT books should be followed in all CBSE schools. Teacher to student ratio in a class should be according to CBSE guidelines, which no school is following. They mentioned that all big schools are transferring profits to their parent societies, which is very unethical.

Ahbab Singh Grewal said that schools cannot be profit-making organisations. He quoted examples of betterment in private and government schools of Delhi and assured the parents' associations of implementation of similar education reforms in Punjab also. He extended full support and mentioned that a blueprint for upliftment of education system of punjab has already been prepared by Aam Aadmi Party. All Parents Associations have extended their support in favor of AAP. During the meeting, parents associations' presents of various schools were present.
